Memorial Day In Honor of my Dad

Here I am at my mom's. We had people come over after the service. We all talked about memories of my Dad. My brother Andy is next to the door. My favorite uncle Frank is between the two rooms. Tyler is playing a game. My brother has adopted him !

Here is my Aunt Kay. She is my favorite Aunt it meant the world that she came. When we talked about my dad, I mentioned something about Aaron and she was there and held my hand, she understood, that meant the world to me.

My mom, even in this time of grief, She is gorgeous!
50 years Together, WOW it's amazing! My mom and dad were not perfect, but they had a connection to one another that was beautiful. My parents used to dance just in our living room it was so beautiful and every day he would kiss her goodbye when he went to work, these are a few of those special things that I treasured as a kid.
My parents relationship wasn't perfect, but it was special and there was this deep connection between them. I felt they always loved one another even in those bad times. They were committed to us and our family. I learned alot after finally getting love right, that came from the relationship my parents had.

My dad had 2 places in the house that he had his treasures. In the basement he collected baby shoes from each of the grandchildren, He had hung up on the ceiling with a nail. There was letters we had sent him in a scrapbook. He had started doing it to help him from forgetting. Seeing my letters from a kid to adult was so touching. I got his jacket. I still can smell him on it, a stop watch, he loved stop watches, every Christmas he would get one, his lighter from when he was in the service and his bike. The bike is so beautiful. I need to get the tire blow up with some air and off I go!
I also got some of his roses. Planting them I felt like he was watching over me gently guiding me in the right direction to plant them. I made a memorial for my dad. I will talk about that later.

Mom without sleep in a car for hours

Our trip up to Michigan started with uncontrollable laughter. I had no reason for laughing. Except for being delirious. I laughed and laughed, so much for no reason. I laughed and no one else in the car could control themselves either. Laughter had overcome our truck!
I felt so silly! I told jokes and laughed at them and laughed, like I just heard the best joke in the world, though it wasn't funny to others, til I was hit with uncontrollable laughter.

Life in the Thomas' rental truck was full of smile and giggles and laughter.

A close smiling moment with one of my beautiful daughters. Autumne

The Journey Begins

Our journey began. We left at 5:30. I stayed up all night. Let's see how I weathered the trip!

Here's JJ with his favorite bud, Curious George!

Autumne dreaming eyed!

Should I play my game or sleep? Tara sleeping over in the corner!

Jerry always loves hearing silly stories. We read a book about what dogs speak. There was a tale about dogs who went dancing and lost their tails. The kids and I laughed and laughed this was Jerry's face, as we told the story! He was pained by the animal humor!
